2 days ago we took a short ride because the temperature seemed to be going up (a bit). Yes, I hope summer has finally come.
I did tell you there are no special bike paths in our city and in many others, so, if you want to ride a bike, you have several ways out:
- you may ride it on the sidewalks or on the right side of the road
- use back roads within the city
- look for cool places in the country
We tried all the variants and the most convenient within the city is to combine the first 2 variants. Actually we prefer back roads but it’s obvious there exist some places where you cant’s find them — in this case sidewalks are aimed to help you. But there is one big problem – high curbs and lack of curb cuts. If you know how to make bunny hop it’s not a problem for you, otherwise you’ll fail :) We prefer directing bikes to a road.
Turning to the places where we ride: commonly we just come out and try to find new paths we haven’t discovered yet. This time it was the path near our microdistrict that now is under construction, so there are a lot building areas enclosed from strangers, but several days ago some houses got finished and we got access to new areas.
We wandered these places a bit and found a great back road to the city center (unfortunately, don’t have photos).
This road led us to the interesting places such as abandoned oil depot not far from our district.
Behind the apple tree you can see a small part of “our road” :)
It’s the minor city airport which doesn’t accomodate airplanes nowadays (if I’m not mistaken), only helicopters such as on the landing ground. I wanted to make more photos but oncoming gloomy men seemed not to be glad to see us there :)
Finally, having ridden about 9 km through the city, we found ourselves at a beautiful park. Surprise!
